Event_1

From 8th to 15th July, Govt. Boys Senior Secondary School No-2, Sector IV, Dr. Ambedkar Nagar, New Delhi, partnered with Asha Counselor to conduct a meaningful series of group counseling sessions for students from Classes 6 to 12. The initiative aimed to address real-life challenges faced by adolescents today and to guide them toward healthier choices, self-awareness, and academic clarity. Each session was carefully designed to match the developmental needs of the respective age groups, making the entire week both impactful and relatable for the students.

The counseling week began with Male Sensitization sessions for Class 6th and 7th, facilitated by counselor Aasha Gupta . Students were encouraged to reflect on respect, empathy, and responsible behavior—values essential in shaping them into emotionally aware young boys. These discussions opened a safe space for the students to question stereotypes and understand the importance of healthy gender attitudes from an early age.

For Class 8th, counselor Jaya Joshi conducted eye-opening sessions on Drug Addiction Awareness. With growing exposure to peer influence and online content, students learned how addictions develop, how they affect the mind and body, and where to seek help. The session emphasized early prevention, helping students recognize risky situations and make safer choices.

Class 9th participated in a highly relevant session on Social Media and Scrolling Reels, again led by Aasha Gupta. The discussion shed light on excessive screen time, comparison culture, and its effects on concentration and mental health. Students explored practical strategies to balance digital life without compromising academics or emotional well-being.

Moving to Class 10th, Healthy Study Habits and Career Counseling became the central theme. Aasha Gupta guided students through practical techniques for time management, focus building, subject planning, and long-term career thinking. With board classes approaching, the session served as timely support for academic confidence and clarity.

For Class 11th, counselor Beenaa Nidar conducted sessions on Social Media and Scrolling, helping older adolescents understand the deeper psychological impact of online behavior, addictive algorithms, and ways to reclaim attention and productivity. Students engaged actively, sharing their challenges and learning mindful ways of using technology.

The week concluded with Class 12th sessions on Good Classroom Learning and Career Counseling, also facilitated by Beenaa Nidar. Students preparing for their final year received guidance on classroom engagement, effective revision strategies, and making informed career decisions. This closing session helped them feel more grounded and confident as they step into their academic milestone year.
