Empowering Young Minds: Successful Group Counseling Sessions at GBSSS Rajouri Garden Main
Asha Counselor, in collaboration with GBSSS Rajouri Garden Main (School ID: 1515005), proudly conducted a series of impactful group counseling sessions on 27th and 28th August 2024 at F-Block, Rajouri Garden, New Delhi. These free, offline sessions were aimed at students from Classes 6th to 12th, focusing on themes essential for emotional growth, safety, and academic clarity.
The first day, 27th August, emphasized Gender Sensitization for the 6th and 7th class students, led thoughtfully by counselors Usha Madam and Beenaa Nidar. Their engaging approach helped young adolescents understand respect, equality, and appropriate behaviour, key values that build a healthy school environment. On the same day, counselor Sapna conducted a powerful session on Drug Addiction Awareness for the 8th class students, guiding them through topics such as peer pressure, harmful substances, and the importance of informed decision-making.
On 28th August, the focus shifted to academic pathways and future planning. Counselor Aasha Gupta delivered an insightful Career Counseling session for students of Classes 11 and 12, helping them explore streams, career opportunities, and goal-setting. Counselor Beenaa Madam also worked with Class 10 students on career clarity and exam readiness. Meanwhile, counselor Sapna returned to deliver another impactful Drug Addiction Awareness session for Class 9 students, continuing her mission to educate adolescents on safe and healthy choices.
Throughout these two days, students participated actively, asked thoughtful questions, and showed genuine enthusiasm for learning. The sessions were designed not only to provide information but also to create a safe space where students could express themselves openly. Themes such as respect, self awareness, academic decision-making, and responsible behavior were highlighted across all sessions.
The school administration extended its heartfelt appreciation for the collaborative effort. Their letter of acknowledgement recognized the positive influence the sessions had on students and expressed gratitude to the Asha Counselor team for contributing to the emotional well-being and future readiness of learners. This appreciation reflects the shared commitment of both the school and Asha Counselor towards nurturing healthier, stronger, and more informed young individuals.
These sessions reaffirm the belief that “There is no shame in reaching out”
