Asha Counselor’s journey across Delhi’s educational landscape has grown into a powerful movement of awareness, guidance, and student empowerment. From conducting structured group counseling sessions in government schools to receiving recognition from DIET, SCERT, and Vidyanjali, the initiative continues to touch young lives with compassion, clarity, and professional excellence.

The ninth school under this initiative - SKV No.1 Zeenat Mahal, Kamla Market, New Delhi 02 - marks yet another milestone for Asha Counselor’s active involvement through the Vidyanjali portal, where counselors contribute voluntarily to strengthen school-based learning and wellbeing programs. Multiple awareness sessions were conducted by Ms. Beena Nidar, covering topics essential for the holistic development of students. These included personal hygiene for Class VI, sensitizing Class VIII students about helping elderly citizens, addressing domestic violence for Class IX-A, and educating younger children of Class IV about Good Touch and Bad Touch. All sessions took place under the guidance of Principal Ms. Sona Kumari, reflecting a meaningful collaboration between the school and the organization.

The outreach extended beyond schools into higher education, with Asha Counselor conducting the first counseling session at Motilal Nehru College (NCWEB), University of Delhi. The session, led by Asha Gupta, provided guidance tailored to young women navigating academic pressure, emotional health, and career concerns—a major step toward mental health accessibility in college settings.

Asha Counselor’s consistent contribution across institutions has been recognized at district and state levels. The District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Moti Bagh, awarded a Certificate of Appreciation (2024 - 2025) for excellent performance in implementing Vidyanjali initiatives across South District schools. Another certification from SCERT, New Delhi, acknowledged volunteer contribution, specifically highlighting the completion of 43 activities, a remarkable milestone for any counselor working in the voluntary space. Adding to this recognition, Asha Counselor received the Excellence Award at the Vidyanjali Samman Samaroh, District South, solidifying their role as one of the most impactful contributors to the program.

This growing influence caught the attention of the media as well. Multiple newspapers, including Motherland Voice (12 April 2025) and Delhi Aur Delhi (19 April 2025), published articles featuring Asha Counselor’s work, sessions, and recognitions. These reports highlighted the team’s dedication to student wellbeing and the wide range of themes they cover- career readiness, personal hygiene, emotional health, social responsibility, and safety awareness. The featured images displayed counselors receiving awards, engaging with students in classrooms, and participating in Vidyanjali ceremonies- capturing the essence of hands-on work and heartfelt service.

Through school programs, college counseling, official recognitions, and widespread media coverage, Asha Counselor continues to build a culture of awareness, respect, and emotional wellbeing.
